How long have you lived in Burlington?
For eight years.
Previous political experience
New to Canadian politics. Had actively participated in political campaigns for a specific party in Mauritius.
What are your priorities if elected?
This is the time for a change in leadership. I will investigate how funds are distributed, where inefficiencies exist, and how we can redirect resources to improve essential services. If residents are paying more every year, then they should see improvements — not declining service.
I will look at how to support our seniors better with more affordable social programs and activities, accessible transportation and housing options. I intend to also support our diverse community with more venues to practice their faith and celebrate traditions.
I will also address the housing issue to look at more affordable housing options, such as multi-unit residential buildings in strategic locations with appropriate infrastructure supports.
For Burlington to grow, I will encourage technological development while protecting our environment and reducing the impact of climate change. I would encourage the use of sustainable materials and alternative sources of energy for housing, transportation, and city landscaping and maintenance. This will also drive projects for improving roads and sidewalks for safer commutes for drivers and pedestrians.
We will invest in businesses and build schools that will provide jobs for our youth. We need our city to progress and be a safe place for every generation to survive.
